"It's a great opportunity to meet, mingle, shop and really, for the designers to take a good look at your line preseason," says Atousa, who started Sew Down to showcase the 'sophisticated, but cool and wearable' work of her young set. In the spirit of fusing art, music, and fashion under one snazzy umbrella, the third installment of Sew Down promises to keep the buzz factor high. Organized by LA designer Atousa, the event features such up-and-coming local designers as Tom Sleeping, Happy Campers, Freda La, and Atousa. The DJ lineup features Detroit techno heavyweight Juan Atkins, who is backed up by Gotham City spitfires Ron Trent and Reid Speed. Soak up some estrogen in the all-girl-DJ area with hometown spinners like DJ Sol, Lillyanne, and Holly Adams. For those who still have energy left, get some visual therapy outside from graffiti deities MearOne and Kemst, spraying it up alongside a crew of other graf-masters. Did we mention it's free?
